To celebrate its continued dominance in MPV segment, Toyota Innova Crysta Leadership Edition has been launched
It may be recalled that Innova has remained a favourite for more than 15 years, ever since it was launched in 2005. Total sales in India since launch is more than 9 lakh units. Second-gen Innova Crysta was launched in 2015 and its sales in the county have crossed 2.70 lakh units. The people carrier currently commands the largest market share of 40% in MPV segment.
Toyota Innova Crysta Leadership Edition will be launched with the 2.4-litre BS6 diesel engine. The variant will be top-spec diesel automatic that comes with 6-speed transmission with sequential shift. Max power output is 150 hp and max torque is 360 Nm. In comparison, the manual variant delivers torque of 343 Nm, while power output is the same. Leadership Edition will only be offered with top variant VX, diesel auto combo.
Toyota Innova Crysta Leadership Edition will have limited changes, as compared the standard model. ‘Leadership Edition’ badging is one of the key enhancements. In addition, it also gets a 360 degree panoramic camera as well as auto folding ORVMs. Price of this new Leadership Edition is Rs 21.21 lakhs, ex-sh. Compared to the regular Innova Crysta top diesel auto, price of this new limited edition is about Rs 65k higher.
New colour options that will be offered with Innova Leadership Edition include White Pearl & Black and Wildfire (Red) & Black. This is the first time Toyota Innova Crysta will be offered with dual tone colour options. Until now, it has been offered in mono tone colour options.
Apart from these, there are no other major changes. Most other features will be the same such as 3D trapezoidal grille, automatic LED projector headlamps, sporty alloy wheels, chrome finished electrically adjustable and retracting ORVMs, smart entry system, chrome window lining, unique inverted tail lights, welcome lamps, shark fin antenna and integrated rear spoiler.
On the inside, there’s leather wrapped steering wheel with wood finish, premium leather seats, wood finish interior panels, ambient illumination, rear AC auto cooler with digital display, and upper glove box with cooling. Safety features include 7 airbags, ABS With EBD & BA, vehicle stability control, hill start assist control, rear parking sensor, anti-theft system, cruise control, and emergency brake signal.
Innova Crysta Leadership Edition will be a limited edition variant, available to customers on first come, first serve basis. Booking amount is Rs 50,000, which is the same as that of standard variant. Innova Crysta Leadership Edition will start reaching dealerships in the next 2-3 weeks.
